Tuesday March 5, 2019-Ailing billionaire industrialist, Chris Kirubi, has landed a lucrative and multi-billion deal with the Government of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto.
Kirubi’s company entered into the deal with the controversial-State-owned firm – National Youth Service (NYS).
According to the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Public Service and Gender Affairs, Margaret Kobia, the deal will see Centum Investments handle the training for NYS recruits to equip them with skills needed to achieve the Big Four Agenda.
She added that under the deal, Centum would also employ some of the NYS recruits who will undergo what she termed as “comprehensive training”.
The Kirubi-owned company signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NYS on Tuesday at the NYS headquarters along Thika Road.
This comes even as Centum, through a consortium, already has a Sh164 billion tender which it won in 2015 for the construction of a coal plant in Lamu.
