Monday June 24, 2019 – Nairobi Governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko, and Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria, have formed an unofficial political movement to counter Deputy President William Ruto’s Tanga Tanga that is making noise all over campaigning for the DP’s 2022 bid.
The two have named their political movement ‘Team Wanjiku’, noting that leaders have forgotten the common man and are fixated on 2022 succession politics.
Speaking during a church service rally in Kiambu yesterday, the two leaders highlighted that the political movement aims to advance the interests of the poor and the less fortunate in the society.
“Team Wanjiku is saying enough is enough.”
“No one is there to protect the unemployed youths and women.”
“We are 100% supporting President Uhuru’s Big 4 but all we are saying is Wanjiku should be given priority,” Sonko noted.
Sonko added that ‘Team Wanjiku’ will not associate itself with either the two other teams and will bring on board young elected leaders and youth from all the 47 Counties.
“We don’t belong to any of these groups because they are undermining the President,” he added.
On his part, the Gatundu South MP stated that it was unfortunate and embarrassing to see leaders engage in campaigns yet there were other issues affecting the poor in the country.
“Kenyans have to choose between leaders who want to talk about their issues and those who want to take them into political circles without anything meaningful to offer,” Kuria noted.
