Francis Nambute struck in the second half to secure a point for Posta Rangers during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Bandari FC at the Narok Stadium.
Suleiman Osman had scored into his own net at the stroke of half time to hand Bandari the advantage but the visitors failed to protect their advantage, extending Twahir Muhiddin’s wait for his first win since returning to the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).
Posta started the game with some good possession and Justin Ndikumana had to be alert to push out Gerson Likono’s attempt after the forward had been put through by Nambute.
Ten minutes later Ndikumana was on toes again to collect Clinton Kisiavuki’s long range shot as he rectify his last weekend blunders in Afraha.
Shaban Kenga who scored during the first leg one all draw in Mombasa delivered a hard low cross two minutes before half time only to caught Suleiman Osman unaware who tapped it in his own net past Jarius Adira in the goal post.
Bandari coach Twahir Muhiddin was forced to make a first half substitute immediately after the goal when their bully striker Wycliff Ochomo stretched his muscle and replace him with Ugandan William Wadri.
Ten minutes after the break, Posta rangers Sammy Pamzo Omollo introduced Ken Mutembei in Charles Odete’s place whom only took other ten minutes before he sets up Francis Nambute for an equaliser in the 65th minute.
William Wadri had took back Bandari up with a fine header from Darius Msagha cross only to be ruled offside by the line woman.
With the point, Posta are still 8th on the log with 29 points as Bandari are also still in 11th position with 19 points with a game in hand.
