Striker Wayi Yeka chose the ideal time to open his AFC Leopards as he scored the winner in their 1-0 victory over Sony Sugar to lift them off the bottom of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) standings into 15th place.
Leopards had lost all six of their previous league matches and needed this sort of response in front of a packed Bukhungu Stadium to ease the crisis at the Den.
Yeka turned in Whyvonne Isuza’s cross in the 48th minute for the winner and Eugene Mukangula hit the post in the dying minutes from a one on one situation when Leopards had the chance to kill off the game.
