The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) on Friday seized 144 drums of imported ethanol at the port of Mombasa.
According to the taxman, a multi-agency team led by its officials undertook 100% verification on the consignment in two twenty feet containers carrying over 28,000 litres of ethanol.
KRA now estimates that it could have lost over Ksh.12 million in taxes for the ethanol.
At the same time, the tax man also seized a Range Rover sports suspected to have been stolen from the UK.
The high end vehicle was mis-declared as second hand window frames and doors, folding chairs, stools and wall pictures.
