
Kenya’s all-time top try scorer Collins Injera’s brace was not enough for Mwamba RFC as they lost 15-29 to hosts Top Fry Nakuru in a Kenya Cup clash played at the Athletic Club, Nakuru on Saturday.
Mitch Ocholla’s charges scored the first try through Eighth man Charles Odongo after a successful scrum with Duncan Abuyeka converting it to give the host 7-0 Mwamba.
Mwamba’s Eighth man Tony Owour scored a try after a big fight off from the Wanyores with full back Elvis Namusasi missing the try to make it 7-5 for Nakuru.
Center Walter okoth started an attack for the Wanyores with Monate Akuei passing it to Duncan Abuyeka who scored to make it 12-5 at half time after he missed the conversion.
Mwamba’s Elvis Namusasi stole the ball from the hosts 22 metre line to give a pass to Kenya’s all top try scorer Collins Injera who made a sunsentional run to score a try to make it 12-10 with Namusasi missing the conversion.
Nakuru’s back row Monate Akuei scored a penalty to make it 15-10.
Mwamba made a knock on giving the home team the possession winger Walter Okoth making an unbelievable run to score a try after a successful pass from Duncan Abuyeka, Scrum half Geoffrey Ominde convertinh it to make it 22-10 for the Wanyores.
Experienced Inside Center Oscar Ouma fought to the last tooth to score a try after a nice pass from Ominde who also converted it to make it 29-10 for the Nakuru based side.
Injera scored his second try after a scrum Namusasi missing the conversion to make it 29-15 at full time.
Elsewhere defending champions KCB finished Kabras Sugar unbeatable run demolishing them 44-20 at the RFUEA ground.
