Former Gor Mahia head coach Zdravko Logarusic has predicted his former team will soon win a continental silverware.
Logarusic, who had a two-year stint with the 17-time Kenyan champions was at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani when Gor slayed Algeria’s Nasr Athletic Hussein Dey 2-0 on Sunday, in their third CAF Confederation Cup group stage tie.
The Croat could not hide his joy for the hard earned victory by Gor, to a side he described to have done enough homework against the East African giants.
“Gor will absolutely go far in this competition. I can tell their opponents (Hussein Dey) were well prepared to at least force a draw but the determination to win paid off. If they (Gor) can keep getting it right against such top sides then a continental trophy will be a matter of time,” said a greening Logarusic, hiding nothing about his love for K’Ogalo.
Although his visit to Kenya has attracted much speculation about his potential return to the local scene, Logarusic could not divulge his real purpose for the visit.
“When I was here (Kenya), I made important friends who I can always come to see. Of course having coached Gor before I could not miss such a big match happening while I’m in Nairobi. I’m happy for the team,” answered Logarusic, asCitizen Digital dug about his visit.
Earlier last week, the current Sudan national team boss was spotted with a top local football agent in Nairobi, prompting debate about his purpose of visit.
Citizen Digital however understands Logarusic is on a spying mission, with Sudan set to play Kenya in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifiers later in March.
With most of the players set to feature for Kenya in the qualifiers being locally based, Logarusic came spying on them as one of his agenda.
He however accepted since his departure from Kenya, he has been following football developments in the country including, including the local glamour club Gor.
His exit from Gor in June 2013 was such unceremonious, after delaying in Croatia in a mid season leave forcing the management to elevate his then assistant Bobby Ogolla to the top position.
