Deputy President William Ruto has said there are no divisions in the ruling Jubilee party.
On Saturday, Dr Ruto said Jubilee will continue being one under the leadership of the Uhuru Kenyatta.
“There are no factions in Jubilee. We are one family and our purpose is to serve Kenyans,” he said.
Speaking in Njoro Constituency where he commissioned a Ksh.1.3billion road project, the DP remained adamant that unlike other political outfits, Jubilee was founded to unite Kenyans.
According to him, Jubilee was not founded by chance and the Opposition should sort out its own shortcomings rather than seek to disintegrate the ruling party.
“Jubilee is not available for division and propaganda. We will defend the unity of our country and the government’s development track-record,” he said adding that “…no one can dare interfere with this plan..that will continue bringing Kenyans together.”
The upgrade of the Miti Mingi-Bagaria-Naishi-Store Mbili Road that spans over 25-kilometres is expected to be completed in October 2019.
On Saturday, Dr. Ruto held a meeting with wananchi in Mauche as leaders who accompanied him took the opportunity to further castigate Opposition leaders.
Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu warned the Opposition against alleged attempts to bring down Jubilee saying it will be an arduous task.
He then reiterated that Mt Kenya leaders would rally behind Dr Ruto for the top seat in 2022.
On his part, Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati Governor) lashed out at Opposition leader Raila Odinga accusing him of devaluing the development agenda.
“We will not accept any division brought in between President Kenyatta and Dr Ruto. If you are a failure, you are a failure,” he said.
