Tuesday April 9, 2019-Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga absolved himself from the blame over the intensified war against corruption which is seemingly targeted at Deputy President William Ruto.
Speaking yesterday, Raila told Ruto to demand answers from President Uhuru Kenyatta on why he is being targeted in the fight against corruption and not him.
According to Raila, Ruto’s position is high that he could be implicating the President if he is afraid of corruption-related investigation.
“I don’t want to talk about Ruto. If he feels that he is being targeted by the Director of Criminal Investigations, George Kinoti, and the Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji, then he should ask the President not me,” Raila stated.
“This battle is not aimed at any individual, but if you think it is targeting you, then you should find out why,” he added.
The former PM asked the DCI and the DPP to hasten investigations and prosecutions of graft cases.
“Corruption is a cancer that must be dealt with, although within the confines of the law. The DCI and the DPP should speed up the investigations and jail those benefiting from it,” he said.
